Single Slate/TNF
My predictions here are based upon the thought that the WFT defense is gonna whoop the shmeckle of out of Daniel Jones. I love Jones, but playing behind a weak OL that is missing a G, not having the playmaker TE named Engram, and with Saquan at best having a limited role, and all while the WFT DL is made of monsters- Jones is gonnna make mistakes. I predict 1+ fumbles, 1+ ints, a WFT Def touchdown, and 3+ sacks. With that being said, the following are my picks for that game.
WRs
Kenny Golloday- Golladay showed why he is considered such a beast even when he gets injured for every 15 targets he gets. I think Jones relies on him quite heavily this week, and though the WFT Def is gonna show out, Golladay puts up good numbers.
Darious Slayton- I just think he is good for a go or a post route that may or may not end in a TD. Regardless of the TD, he is a good value pick.
Big Terry- We are only through week 1, but Terry has locked up the title for best catch of the year. It just cannot possibly be done any better than he already did it. Heinecke likes this WR (duh), and he should get decently fed.
Cam Sims- Heinecke likes the big boys, and Sims is a part of that category. I think he is a great value pick, though one of my least favorite (both for the week and for single slate TNF lines).
TEs
Logan Thomas- Another one of the big boys and a great player, Thomas may feast against these LBs.
RBs
Nobody. Everyone makes me nervous. The Giants OL isn’t there, and their run defense is. RBs may get some points, but even for single slate games I lean toward WRs in this matchup.
QBs
Heinecke- If you are looking at a single slate game and you love to include QBs, take Heinecke. I did. Otherwise, nah.
DEF
WFT- Like I mentioned above, I expect them to eat. This monster couldn’t compete with the charged-up OL they went against in week 1, but the Giants OL is almost as dead as a 10-year-old battery. The d-line will eat which will make things very fun for the rest of the defense.
SUNDAY
QBs
1: Justin Herbert
Herbert gets to attack a weak Cowboys secondary behind a strong o-line and going against a weakened d-line. There is nothing here not to love.
2: Dak Prescott
Dak is going to be tasked with competing in a shootout, and we know from last year that he thrives in those situations. Now, he is missing some pieces on his OL, but the Cowboys will find ways to give him time.
3: Kyler Murray
Kyler is not my favorite fantasy QB but this offense is primed to run circles around the Vikings defense. I’ll say this- if Patrick Peterson can’t cover Ja’Marr Chase, he in no way can cover DeHop.
4: Russel Wilson
Even with the perpetual state of rain in Seattle, Russ is looking to tear this Titans secondary apart.
5: Joe Burrow
Burrow is going to shred the bears secondary a little more than Dalton will shred his, helping him have a solid week.
RBs
1: Javonte Williams
A cheap option that is ready to GO OFF against the Jags defense. If you don’t trust his running or his touch count, watch the Broncos game from week 1.
2: Nick Chubb
Houston’s run defense is not going to be able to stop this man behind that dangerous o-line.
3: Kareem Hunt
Hunt is going to get his touches this game, and we all know he is one of the more dangerous backs in the league.
4: Najee Harris
I’m not high on Harris on a week-in, week-out basis, but this is the perfect matchup for the Steelers to feed him and get him going.
5: Derrick Henry
Though the Seahawks are more built to stop the run than the pass, it seems to me that he will break at least 1 run- the Titans will do everything they can to make sure of it. They don’t want to be 0-2, and it is unlikely that their passing attack can keep up with that of the Seahawks.
WRs
Expensive
1: Calvin Ridley
The Falcons have no delusions about his this game is going to go- everyone and their grandmother knows that Ridley needs at least 15 targets if they are going to keep up with the Buccs. The good news is the Buccs secondary is weak, and Ridley can shred them. The only thing to worry about here is the rainy weather.
2: Keenan Allen
Allen is probably the surest and one of the highest-upside WRs this week- there is no way in hell the Cowboys can cover him.
3: Allen Robinson
As was mentioned above, the Bears are going to throw the ball all over the field- and that means Robinson is slated to eeaaat.
4: DK Metcalf
Despite the rain, and only the rain, I truly believe that DK is going to go off this week.
5: CeeDee Lamb
Lamb is going to forget his drops from last week and be the WR that the Cowboys need him to be in the shootout with the Chargers.
Cheap
6: Cedrin Wilson
Gallup is out, and we know from last year that Wilson is trusted in this offense as the #3.
7: Robert Woods
Okay, so he’s not super cheap, but I think this week is his week to shine in this offense. Plus, he’s not crazy expensive.
9: Mike Williams
Williams seems to be slated as a big part of this offense, and in a shootout, everyone gets involved.
10: Ja’Marr Chase/Tee Higgins
Everyone is going to feast here- you could start Boyd too, though he doesn’t have the same *wow* of Higgins and Chase.
11: Jalen Guyton
Though not as integral as Williams, if you wanted to take a shot here, it seems Guyton has kept the #3 role from camp and he definitely has some speed.
12: Christian Kirk
We all saw what he did last week, and though nothing is guaranteed week to week, the Vikings are going to be focused on stopping DeHop (who is not included in this post because he is so expensive and other guys have the same upside).
TEs
1: George Kittle
I think this matchup requires Kittle to go off, and Shanahan can scheme up ways to make that happen.
2: Cole Kmet
If you wanted to go slightly cheaper here Kmet is a great option- he’s going to be involved in the passing attack and may even land a touchdown.
3: Gronk
Gronk is just Gronk catching balls from Brady- it’s always a risky pick with this offense but it can be worth a shot.
4: Tyler Higbee
Higbee is going to be a big part in splitting the Colts backers between the run and pass game. He is one of my favorite fantasy TEs this year and this week is no different.
5: Tyler Conklin
The Vikings will have to disrupt the Cardinal linebackers to get the most out of Dalvin Cook, and that means Conklin and crossing WRs will have to give them cause to hesitate at the start of every play.
Defenses
1: Patriots
The Jets are struggling to come together, and the Patriots are going to take advantage of that.
2: Broncos
Just wow- this defense is going to put up some fireworks against Trevor. T-Law will figure it out eventually, but probably not by week 2.
3: Steelers
This defensive line is going to EAT, EAT, EAT against the Raiders.
4: Rams
I mean, who do they even have to cover? The Colts just put Pittman and Campbell on the injury report- not that it would challenge this defense if they played.
5: Browns
The Texans went against a week Jags defense in week 1, but the Browns are nothing of the sort. There is a talent and coaching differential here and both go in the Browns favor.
